Responsibilities:
The Intermediate Systems Administrator will be responsible for assisting with managing all aspects of the corporate IT infrastructure for Kobo Inc., ensuring the desktop environment is maintained, and managing and securing all aspects of the IT infrastructure and environment.
Our server infrastructure is primarily Windows with some Linux, and our desktop environment is approximately half Windows and half Mac.
Other duties include assisting with;
- maintaining facility infrastructure - maintaining the monitoring environment - assessing and implementing security requirements - Administering the network, while establishing and maintaining appropriate SLAs - Assessing performance issues and tuning as necessary - Other duties as required in a very fast paced and demanding environment.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have 5 years experience of administration in a Windows environment, including;
- Windows Operating systems: server and client side - Good understanding of Linux environments - Software deployment/automation - Networking and VPN technology - Scripting ability in Bash and PowerShell - Familiarity with backup solutions - SAN storage systems - Virtualization technologies - VOIP technology - IIS/Apache software - Wireless technology - Nagios/Ganglia - Physical and computer environment security - Strong written and verbal skills - Excellent documentation and problem solving skills
